VERIFIED AFFORESTATION, REFORESTATION AND REVEGETATION (ARR) PROJECTS
Through their supported ARR projects, we can fund the removal of carbon dioxide through the restoration of natural forest carbon sinks. By funding ARR projects through Ecologi, we are supporting a range of projects around the world which contribute to locking up carbon in these incredible terrestrial ecosystems.

We help fund the restoration and conservation of 4 types of habitats: Tackling all these different habitat types together will result in landscapes being a mosaic of habitats that can support high levels of biodiversity.

CLEANER COOKSTOVES IN SOMALIA
BURN’s project in Somalia improves the lives of some of the world’s most vulnerable people. More than 90% of the population still relies on biomass fuels for cooking, driving particularly high deforestation rates in an already arid landscape.

PRODUCING BIOCHAR FROM WASTE BIOMASS IN WALES
Carbon Hill is a family-owned biochar company located at Caebardd Farm, near Welshpool in Wales. The company has developed a proprietary pyrolysis thermal combustion system to produce biochar, with minimal emissions. The pilot system is operating at Caebardd, and the company plans to roll out dozens of pyrolysis units to process waste biomass in the UK and internationally.

The Ouarzazate solar power station is one of the largest concentrated solar projects in the world, making use of thousands of concave mirrors to concentrate solar energy and produce 582 MW of power.

The Keo Seima Wildlife Sanctuary (KSWS) is a haven for biodiversity and a vast storehouse of forest carbon. Spanning over 290,000 hectares, the protected area is home to a diverse array of wildlife, including 84 globally threatened species and the world’s largest population of black-shanked douc. The REDD project area covers 166,983 ha of forest in the SPF Core Protection Area.
